Qualification for admission to Two Year Pre-University Course:

1. Admission to the above is open to candidates who have passed –

    •  The Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination.
        OR
    •  The Karnataka S.S.L.C. Higher Secondary X standard (New Scheme) Examination.
        OR
    •  The matriculation Examination of an Indian University or any other Examination recognized by the  
        Board as equivalent to the matriculation Examination.

2. There shall be an annual examination at the end of the 1 st academic year of the course and the public        examination at the end of the 2nd year.

3. Admission to each of these Examinations shall be open to the Candidates who have,
       i) Undergone the prescribed course of study in the corresponding year,
       ii) Secured the minimum of 75% attendance in each of the subjects during the year,
       iii) Whose progress and conduct are satisfactory as certified by the Head of the Institution.

BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (BBA) :

Education in Business Management Science opens varied avenues for employment in Industry, Banking, Agriculture, Transportation, Communication and other nation building activities. Our economic progress depends on the efficiency and competence of managerial services in public undertaking, private concerns, joint sector ventures of cooperatives. The phenomenal growth of small industries in urban and rural areas throughout the country demands a large body of competent Managers with comprehensive knowledge of the many functions of Management. ELEGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO DEGREE COURSES

A Candidate who has passed the Two Year –Pre-university Examination conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education in Karnataka or any other Examination considered as equivalent there to by the Karnataka University is eligible for admission to the 1 st Semester B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com/ BBA and BCA Course respectively.

ADMISSION

•  The college is open to all students who have the required qualification for admission, without distinction of caste and creed.
•  Application fro admission, should be sent to the principal accompanied by the marks obtained by the pupil at the 10+2 (PUC) or other qualifying examinations. Application forms can be obtained from the College Office. Duly filled in applications should reach the office before the date notified on the Notice Board in the beginning of each academic year. Filling of an application of an application is no.
•  No Admission will be made after the last date which has been fixed by the Karnataka University/Department of University education.
•  All Admissions made in the college are provisional and subject to approval of the University/Department of Pre-University Education.
•  A candidate who wishes a withdraw his/her admission will forfeit all the fees paid by him/her. No T.C. will be issued to him/her unless he/she pays a year's full Fees.
•  A student who is found to have obtained admission by production of false records, Certificates or such other misrepresentations will be summarily dismissed and shall forfeit all the fees paid by him/her.
•  No student will be enrolled in the college register or allowed to attend classes unless he/she has paid the fees within the prescribed date.
•  A student admitted to the college shall be required to undergo medical examination arranged by the college every year.
•  Student proceeding from one college to another along with * Karnataka SSLC or the Matriculation of an Indian University or any other examination recognized by the Board as equivalent to the Matriculation examination * Two year Pre-University course and the transfer and other certificates, the medical certificates given in previous college etc.
•  A student is admitted to the college on the clear understanding that he/she will cheerfully obey the rules and disciplinary regulations of the college.
•  All candidates should bring with them the following records when they present themselves for admission.
• Transfer certificate in the prescribed form of the institution which they last attended (Original & Xerox attested)
•  Conduct certificate from the head of the institution where they studied.
•  Passport size photo of the candidate.
•  Proof for having passed the qualifying examination. The principal may insist on the proof of the candidate's qualification for admission to the college.
•  If the parental income is below Rs. 11,000/- p.a. the candidate produce declaration in form No III duly signed by the competent authority in original and 2 Xerox copies.
•  The candidate coming from any other University, will have to bring eligibility certificate from Karnataka University for getting admission to Degree Classes.
•  Interview of candidate is compulsory. After the interview, if the candidate is selected for admission he/she should pay the term fees immediately failing which the selection will be cancelled.

•  The Principal may refuse admission to any student without giving reasons.

Admission of Foreign Students:

For obtaining admission in the college foreign student should produce following documents:

•  Eligibility Certificate issued by the University.
•  Clearance Certificate for continuing studies in India issued by the Govt. India.
•  Valid Passport
•  Students Visa

The Xerox copies of the above documents should be enclosed which will be forwarded to the University for Further Action.

 

UGC Approved Career Oriented Programme (COP)
MLTC (Medical Laboratory Technician Course)

Professionally qualified graduates with sound knowledge of their core disciplines and expertise in a concerned skill will have more openings in service, industry and self-employment sectors. Demand and scope, for each professionally trained graduated are increasing day by day. To meet this challenge the University Grants Commission (UGC) has initiated a major programme to introduce career and market-oriented, skill enhancing add-on courses that have utility for job, self-employment and employment of the students at the undergraduate level.

In view of this, JSS College , Dharwad has introduced certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in – MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN COURSE (MLTC) with the approval of University Grants Commission from the academic year 2007-08 for regular B.Sc. Degree (1 st Semester to 6 th Semester) students. In pursuance of the policy of University Grants Commission, Karnataka University may consider to issue of Honours Degree to those students who have successfully completed concurrently three certificates of certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma course.
